On 29 April, KIRA (Kawana Island Residents Association) Committee Members met with all the Councillors (including the Mayor) of Sunshine Coast Council as part of Council’s “meet and greet” community bodies initiative. This facilitated Council introducing all Councillors to KIRA and gave KIRA the opportunity to create greater awareness of what it does. It seemed to be educational for both sides and was considered by KIRA to be a very positive initiative by Council.
KIRA also met with Cr Connolly and Council staff for one of its regular meetings with the Councillor and went through a number of items raised by KIRA members.
