Residents will recall that last year KIRA requested the Sunshine Coast council to undertake a general spruce up for the island are members of the KIRA community recently met with Councillor Connolly to receive a report on progress.
Councillor Connolly reported that most of the items identified by KIRA have been addressed while some is still being undertaken, such as steam-cleaning of the stonework around the island. KIRA raise questions about some of the documented Councill responses provided, and Councillor Connolly undertook to investigate these.
The items still requiring further investigation include an upgrade of access facilities for Parrearra Lake lock and painting of some of the Energex-controlled lightpoles.
